Challenge

  • A number of former Doubleclick executives had developed an idea and raised money to create a new company, intended to provide the marketplace with a video monetization platform that took the best of the ad-serving marketplace and established it for the syndicated world of online video content. They were looking for ways to establish the company and meet the market.

Strategy

  • CSF inserted into Freewheel for the first 13 months of the company’s existence as the outsourced CMO, VP Marketing and marketing department. CSF played the marketing role, establishing all baseline positioning, messaging and go-to-market strategy for Freewheel.tv.
    Execution of the relationship included website, marketing and sales collateral, trade marketing and press initiatives, agency and publisher introductions, and crafting of key product offerings and pricing.

  • Freewheel.tv secured over $16MM in funding during the first 2 years of existence and has established themselves as the industry leading platform for monetizing video.
  • Freewheel currently works with brands like CBS, Vevo, Univision, SlingMedia, and others.
